Vietnam’s gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 7.4% during the 3rd quarter of this year despite damage caused by Typhoon Yagi, the General Statistics Office (GSO) reports.

The industry, construction, and service sectors remain strong, with a growth rate of 9.1% and 7.5%, respectively, compared to Q3 2023.

Due to the losses caused by Typhoon Yagi and despite growing by 2.58% compared to Q3 2023, this is the lowest growth rate of the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector in three years.

In the first nine months of 2024, Vietnam’s GDP increased by 6.82% over the same period of 2023.
