Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) has retained its lead in the global pure-play foundry market, capturing a 64% share in Q3 2024. This is an increase from the 62% in the previous quarter, according to Counterpoint Research.
Growth was driven by growing demand for TSMC’s advanced 5nm and 3nm processes, AI accelerators, and strong smartphone sales.
TSMC plans to begin commercial 2nm production this year, offering 10-15% performance gains and improved energy efficiency.
