Thailand’s Singapore-listed conglomerate, ThaiBev, plans to spend 5-8 billion baht next year to expand its businesses. Out of this, 1.1. billion baht would be allocated for the food business, 600-800 million for spirits, and 300-400 for non-alcoholic drinks.
For the food business, ThaiBev will open 70 new restaurants, half of those for the KFC brand.
The company sees also huge potential in its non-alcohol business, where Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand lead the way. Meanwhile, its spirits business has turned out to be resilient, maintaining market share for white and brown drinks.
ThaiBev’s sales in the nine months up to June by 8.2% to 208 billion baht, while its earnings before taxes, interest, depreciation, and amortization rose by 6.7% to 39.1 billion baht.
