Cross-border unmanned aircraft flights will now require permits from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).
A new framework regarding such flights will supplement the existing framework for unmanned aircraft operations in Singapore, which was introduced in 2015.
Any operator found flying an unmanned aircraft into or out of Singapore without a permit can be jailed for up to two years, fined up to S$50,000 (US$37,300), or both.
Authorities will also have the power to take down any unauthorized cross-border unmanned aircraft.
