The Vietnamese Embassy in Finland, in cooperation with the Finland-Southeast Asia Business Association and the Hai Phong City People’s Committee, organized an event to promote investment, trade, and business connections in Helsinki on 9 September.

The Vice President of the Hai Phong City People’s Committee, Le Khac Nam, along with Nguyen Van Thanh, Director of the Department of Commerce and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee for International Integration, gave presentations on the city’s socio-economic development, its strengths, investment opportunities, and its focus on green technology and smart, sustainable cities.

Leaders from the departments of Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment, Hai Phong Customs, and the Saigon New Port Company also participated in the event.

The event attracted about 25 businesses from Finland. The delegates expressed admiration for the dynamism and growth of Hai Phong City, asking direct and specific questions about policies while showcasing the strengths of their respective companies.

The Vietnamese delegation was particularly interested in acquiring waste management technology from Finland.

Hai Phong is the third largest city in Vietnam, home to a major port. The city’s economy has been growing at over 10% annually.
