Nightlife Has Returned to Pattaya

The tourism industry in Pattaya is experiencing an increase in spending by tourists from Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Currently, about 40% of tourists in Pattaya are local Thai, 60% being foreigners.

Tourism Authority of Thailand Pattaya Director Anoma Wongyai confirms that Pattaya is in high season right now and many Russians, Indians, Indonesians, and Chinese want to visit the city, starting with private and family groups.

Flights from China will start arriving at U-Tapaoโ€“Rayongโ€“Pattaya International Airport on 25 February. And once the RT-PCR testing is lifted, an increasing number of Indian visitors may follow.

The Pattaya Entertainment Association confirms that also the famous entertainment business in Pattaya is recovering. The nightlife is already running at 90% capacity.

In Walking Street, the total revenue is about 60 million baht per night on weekdays, reaching 100 million baht per night at weekends. Should Pattaya extend opening hours to 4 AM instead of the current 2 AM, insiders believe the figure could reach 200 million baht per night.
