An aviation services agreement signed by Taiwan and Finland could pave the way for direct flights between the countries.

The Civil Aviation Administration (CNA) says the accord is the first between Taiwan and a country in northern Europe.

According to the accord, each country could operate 14 flights per week for passengers and cargo each.

The flights would be allowed to stop at other points on the way between Taiwan and Finland.
