Malaysia’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) grew 2% year-on-year in July, according to the National Department of Statistics.
Thw CPI increase was slightly below the 2.1% projection by the Reuters poll.
The rise in consumer costs was led by restaurant and accommodation services, which increased 3.4% in July as compared to 3.3% in June.
Inflation for personal care, social protection and miscellaneous goods and services increased 3.2% in July.
The food and beverages group recorded an increase of 1.6%.
