Laos Prepares for More Flooding

The Laos Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources is advising citizens to monitor the weather and prepare for flash flooding and landslides this week. 

The Ministry warns that from 4-8 August, there will be increased precipitation in northern, central, and southern Laos, leading to moderate and heavy rainfall.

Water levels in Nam Khan, Nam Xam, and Nam Ma in Houaphanh Province are expected to rise during the week, while Xaysomboun will see an increase in water levels in Nam Chang and Nam Ao rivers.

Additionally, the levels of water in Nam Xan, the Xe Bang Fai River, and Xe Champhone will increase in the central provinces of Bolikhamxay, Khammouane, and Savannakhet.
