Lao Telecom has officially unveiled Laos's first-ever 5G high-speed internet service.
5G offers up to 20 Gbps peak data rates and over 100 Mbps average rates. With increased capacity, it supports a hundred times surge in traffic, enhancing network efficiency and overall performance.
High-speed internet trials were first conducted by Unitel, another telecom provider, already in 2019. Despite the trials, Unitel has not officially launched its 5G service countrywide.
