Indonesia’s National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) has drawn up two scenarios to achieve president-elect Prabowo Subianto’s plan to reach 8% GDP growth.
The 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) envisions reaching a growth rate of 5.7% in Prabowo’s first year in office, followed by 6.4%, 7%, 7.5%, and then 8% annually.
This would bring the average to 6.9% throughout the five years of the incoming Prabowo administration.
The other scenario aims to achieve 8.3% growth in Prabowo’s third year by pushing up the rate to 6.8% during the first year and then 7.6% in the second. Thus would be followed by 8.0% and 7.8 % in his fourth and fifth years, for average GDP growth of 7.7%.
