Indonesia’s Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry aims to attract 1.5 million tourists from China this year, almost double last year’s figure.
Among the 12 Chinese airliners that have reopened direct flights to Indonesia are China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Juneyao Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, and Air Macau. The direct routes are expected to transport visitors from China to several Indonesian cities and regions, including Jakarta, Bali, and the North Sulawesi capital Manado.
The ministry prioritizes the “crown jewels”, such as Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, Borobudur Temple in Yogyakarta, Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Mandalika in West Nusa Tenggara, and Likupang in North Sulawesi.
