The International Monetary Fund (IMF) predicts that Laos’ economy will grow by 4% this year and in 2024. This is mainly due to China reopening its borders and removing travel restrictions, according to the IMF’s April economic outlook.
“The reopening and growth of [China’s] economy will likely generate positive spillovers, with even greater spillovers for countries with stronger trade links and reliance on Chinese tourism,” says the report.
