Chinese New Year is celebrated by more than 20% of the world. It’s the most important holiday in China and to Chinese people all over.
You’ll hear it being called chunjie (春节), or the Spring Festival in China. In some other parts, it’s called Lunar New Year.
Chinese New Year is the longest holiday in China, where the celebrations may last up to 16 days. The number of official holidays in other countries varies, but the festival is widely recognized throughout East and Southeast Asia.
