The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that almost 800 million people in the Western Pacific region, including the Philippines, do not have full access to basic health services.
WHO says that two in five people—about 782 million—still cannot get essential health services, including immunization, pregnancy, newborn care, and treatments for communicable and noncommunicable diseases (NCDs).
According to WHO, one in five people in the Western Pacific is facing huge health-care spending amounting to at least 10% of their income for health-care services.
