The third-generation Mercedes-Benz CLA will use a 2.0T four-cylinder engine manufactured by Chinese Geely and Horse, a 50:50 owned company between Geely and Renault.
The engine’s output is claimed to be 250 horsepower (186 kW) and has a maximum torque of 360 Nm.
Through its CEO Li Shufu, Geely owns about 10% of Mercedes-Benz and also has a joint venture with the company to produce Smart brand EVs.
The engine is being produced in China, but the catalytic converter will be installed in Germany to meet emission regulations.
