According to Thailand’s Transport Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit, the first phase of the Thai-Chinese high-speed rail would be completed in 2028.
The first phase of the Thai-Chinese high-speed rail from Bangkok to Nakhon Ratchasima is 35% complete.
Suriya expects the second phase from Nakhon Ratchasima to Nong Khai provinces to begin next year.
Suriya asks the Chinese government for support in the construction of a railway bridge over the Mekong River from Laos to Thailand to ensure smooth transportation. He also would like the Chinese government to consider building a 200-kilometre double-track railway in Laos, connecting with Thailand’s railway.
