Finnair has announced plans that could result in layoffs affecting dozens of long-haul pilots.

The airline and its pilots have been engaged in prolonged negotiations over new working conditions and wages, but significant disagreements remain. Negotiations are currently at a standstill as pilots have taken industrial action and engaged in an overtime ban.

The company has initiated restructuring negotiations involving up to 90 of the 1,000 pilots it currently employs.
