The World Bank forecasts just 2.4% global economic growth year on year in 2024. High interest rates remain a major factor.
Excluding the contraction of the global economy in 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the growth rate of 2024 will be the lowest since the 2009 financial crisis.
The World Bank is positive that 2025 will see a slightly stronger expansion at 2.7%.
