The railway has recorded rising numbers of passengers making local trips on both sides of the border since its launch on December 3, 2021.
But cross-border passenger trains have not yet been operational because of Covid-19 restrictions.
As of January 31, the Laos-China Railway had operated 20,000 passenger trains and handled 10.3 million passenger trips since its launch, the China Railway Kunming Group reports.
