ASEAN’s economic growth was 4.1% in 2023. This is expected to increase to 4.6% in 2024.
Investment in ASEAN increased only by 0.3% from US$229 billion in 2022 to US$230 billion in 2023.
Another important measure is that the value of trade in ASEAN products actually decreased by 1.2% from US$3,846 billion in 2022 to US$3,525 billion in 2023.
According to Laos’ Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Malaythong Kommasith, collaboration within ASEAN would help the region by enhancing cooperation with the outside world.
