The recent visa exemption agreement between Thailand and China should provide opportunities for new routes and increased flight frequencies.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) anticipates that this will boost tourism recovery. TAT expects an influx of 8 million travelers, a 75% rebound compared to pre-Covid levels.
Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin announced a few days ago that China and Thailand had agreed to a permanent visa exemption for travel between the two countries from 1 March.
This follows Thailand’s earlier visa waiver for Chinese nationals for a 30-day stay from 25 September 2023 to 9 February 2024.
