Joint Maritime Conference 2026

The Philippines in Global Shipping: Future Opportunities and Threats

29 January 2026 | 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Lanson Place Mall of Asia, Pasay City

As a key player in global shipping, the Philippines is faced with the challenge to keep up with evolving global maritime dynamics, navigate emerging threats, and foster potential opportunities. This high-level conference seeks to examine the country's strategic position amid shifting geopolitical realities, technological disruption, and evolving labor demands. Through expert-led discussions and dynamic panels, the event will examine emerging geopolitical tensions, technological disruptions, and the evolving landscape of Filipino seafaring.

With this, the Joint Maritime Committee of the Dutch, French, German, Italian, Nordic, and Norwegian Chambers of Commerce in the Philippines is organizing the first Joint Maritime Conference: The Philippines in Global Shipping: Future Opportunities and Threats. The conference will bring together maritime experts, industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to engage in critical dialogue on three key themes:

  1. Safe Passage - A deep dive into the shifting geopolitical order and its implications for maritime security and global shipping routes.
  2. Tech or Threat - An exploration of artificial intelligence, autonomous vessels, and cybersecurity—highlighting both innovation and regulatory challenges.
  3. The World's Leading Supplier of Crew—Now and in the Future? - A comprehensive look at the Filipino seafarer's role in the global workforce, including training, competitiveness, and economic impact.
